NZ #9: Rotarua: Geysers, hot rivers, gondolas, and luges

Frosty morning starting out on the drive to Rotarua

Spiderweb...

Fog and mist above the Mudbaths

Deliciously smelling mud boiling

New dutch friends from the hostel: Guido and Martoen

Unlike Old Faithful in Yellowstone, they add surfactant to get this baby to blow every morning at 1015

Signs come from someone doing something they weren't s'posed to...

Champagne pool

Weird green pool.  Decidedly where Gatorade or some weird drink is made.

Kerosene Creek... voted best (and free-est!) part of the day

Walking back to the creek is a bit reminiscent of being in Jurassic Park (minus dinosaurs of course!)

Not uncommon sight of sheep.  Such a beautiful and peaceful country this.

Rotorua Skyline

I've never really been scared of heights until riding this little bugger up from the luge run.  PS Luge run seriously fun, which made up for scary ride back.

Yeah, the tiny nets below didn't really instil confidence... at all.  Beautiful views though of Rotorua.
