NZ #10: Spa day, aka vacation day from vacation

Here at the Polynesian Spa there are pools at 36', 38', 40', and 42'.

Fortunately at a slow tourist time, I had all but one of the pools to myself.

Weeeeeeeeeeee

I could get used to this.

All of the pools overlooked the Lake Tarawera

A little waterfall by the really hot pool

Lots of seagulls - or lakegulls?
Sorry I didn't pictures of the mud wrap... but it was pretty awesome, with Manuka honey and all!

NZ #9: Rotarua: Geysers, hot rivers, gondolas, and luges

Frosty morning starting out on the drive to Rotarua

Spiderweb...

Fog and mist above the Mudbaths

Deliciously smelling mud boiling

New dutch friends from the hostel: Guido and Martoen

Unlike Old Faithful in Yellowstone, they add surfactant to get this baby to blow every morning at 1015

Signs come from someone doing something they weren't s'posed to...

Champagne pool

Weird green pool.  Decidedly where Gatorade or some weird drink is made.

Kerosene Creek... voted best (and free-est!) part of the day

Walking back to the creek is a bit reminiscent of being in Jurassic Park (minus dinosaurs of course!)

Not uncommon sight of sheep.  Such a beautiful and peaceful country this.

Rotorua Skyline

I've never really been scared of heights until riding this little bugger up from the luge run.  PS Luge run seriously fun, which made up for scary ride back.

Yeah, the tiny nets below didn't really instil confidence... at all.  Beautiful views though of Rotorua.

NZ #8: Rainbows and volcanoes

Sweet surprise in the morning with a rainbow over the harbor, which turned into a...

FULL rainbow!

Following another rainbow I stumbled onto this little church

Like colors from a painting it started growing darker

And it started snowing

More beautiful colors on the drive down from Bruce Road on the top of one of the volcanoes

NK #7: Interislander to the North Island, Te Papa Museum, and Pimmerton

Picton port

These ducks wanted my breakfast of oatmeal...

Silly birds

Peace, perfect peace
